Types of Massage

Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic Massage provides an emphasis on structural integration and proper muscle function to support pain relief, ease of movement/range of motion, improved duration (holding) of chiropractic treatments and overall wellness.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage therapy is the modality that comes to mind when most people think about massage. As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone Massage is a form of massage therapy that follows the same principles of Swedish Massage with the addition of heated stones, which helps lead to deep relaxation. Adding heat to specific areas on the body enhances the feelings of relaxation and peace. Recommended in particular for individuals suffering from fibromyalgia, arthritis or other chronic pain. The penetrating effects of the heated stones allows the massage to be delivered without excessive pressure.

Reflexology Massage

Foot Reflexology massage can be a deeply relaxing and therapeutic modality for those suffering from plantar fascistic, ankle injuries or even everyday work and play. At Massage Envy, your massage therapist will apply traditional Swedish and sports massage techniques to the foot, calf and upper leg. This will not only help relieve toe pain, ankle pain, plantar fascistic and common forms of arthritis, but can also decrease stress and anxiety in the entire body. In addition, a variety of stretches can be beneficial. With pain and sensitivity in the foot, heel and calf areas, be sure to communicate your pain levels with your massage therapist during your treatment. It is also a good idea to rest after receiving the reflexology massage.

Cranial Sacral Therapy Massage

Cranial sacral therapy (also known as craniosacral therapy) is a gentle, noninvasive form of bodywork that addresses the bones of the head, spinal column and sacrum. The goal is to release compression in those areas which alleviates stress and pain.

Cranial sacral therapy seeks to restore the natural position of the bones and can decrease  stress from chronic injuries as well as provide relief from migraine headaches, neck and back pain, temporomandibular joint disorder (the inflammation of the joint that connects the lower jaw to the skull) and more.

Benefits of Massage

You know that post-massage feeling. Your mind is clear and your body is relaxed. An occasional massage leaves you feeling great, but regular massage can do so much more. The work your therapist does in each session builds on itself, helping your body maintain its relaxed state and your muscles to remain loose even during times of physical and mental stress.

Taking care of your body should be at the top of your priorities. By adding therapeutic massage to your routine now, you’ll feel, look and simply be healthier far into the future. In fact, stress relief alone can improve your vitality and state of mind. So what better way to prep for a long, happy life than a relaxing, therapeutic massage?

BIOFIELD TUNING

What is Biofield Tuning?

The term biofield refers to our body’s electrical system in its entirety – both the electric current that runs through our bodies, and the magnetic field that surrounds it.

Biofield Tuning is a sound therapy method that works directly with this system, seeing it as inextricably connected with our conscious and subconscious mind, including our memories.

All physical, mental and emotional disorders can be perceived as “dissonance” in our electrical system. Biofield Tuning is able to locate, diminish and resolve this dissonance and in doing so, alleviate and even eradicate the corresponding physical, mental and/or emotional symptoms.

How it works

During a Biofield Tuning session, a client lies fully clothed on a treatment table while the practitioner activates a tuning fork and scans the biofield slowly, beginning from about six feet away.

The practitioner is:

  • feeling for resistance and turbulence in the client’s biofield

  • listening for a change in the overtones and undertones of the tuning fork

When the practitioner encounters a turbulent area he/she continues to activate the tuning fork and hold it in that specific spot. Research suggests the body’s organizing intelligence uses the steady coherent vibrational frequency of the tuning fork to “tune” itself.

In short order, the dissonance resolves and the sense of resistance gives way. This appears to correspond to the release of tension with the body. People relax and breathe more freely and the body enters into an increased flow state.

Meet Your Healing Practitioner: Andrea

As a nurse with 30 years of experience, primary, in intensive care. I have come to understand that our body is so much more than a bunch of mechanical and chemical process. Attending to the body, mind, and spirit as a whole is crucial to our overall heath.

When left unsatisfied with current mainstream healthcare, I began searching for sustainable heath and wellness for my family and myself. As a result, I studied various holistic approaches including Ayurveda, TCM, Homeopathy and various energy medicines and revived a Holistic Healthcare certificate in 2018.

Biofield Tuning in particular, is one  modality that found me. I felt called to practice and share this method with others. My mission is to assist others in their own journey to wellness and help them reach their full potential by teaching them to take control of their own path to healing.
