Tammy Bedard, RYT
I walked into White Lotus for the first time on October 7, 2013, fell in love with the practice, and have been there almost every day since! Finding Yoga has brought physical, emotional, and mental balance to my hectic lifestyle. My thirst to want to learn more and deepen my practice led me to obtain my RYT200 Certification in the Spring of 2015. It was then my real journey of self-discovery began and my practice reached a completely different level. In the Fall of 2015, we moved to the new studio and Peggy added a room with hammocks hanging from the ceiling! I remember thinking, “OH GOODNESS!! My new playground!!”. In November 2015, a handful of us was certified as AIReal Yoga™ Instructors.
My passion is building core strength which I believe to be the foundation of our practice. Whether in a Hot Flow or hanging in the AIReal™ hammocks, let’s crank up the music and start that journey to a healthier, stronger you! Most importantly, we will have fun in the process!

Melissa Henk, RYT
Yoga has been an amazing journey for me and I am so happy to facilitate this healing practice for others. When we take time to tune in and find inner stillness, we become aware of the mind, body, and spirit connection. We discover the power of surrender, learn to move gracefully through challenges, see the growth surrounding obstacles, change our world in a breath, and feel the eternal truth and beauty of our being. Not only did I receive my RYT200 Hour Certification through White Lotus Yoga Studio in the spring of 2016, but I also uncovered a more confident and empowered version of myself. I can feel the strength of my body, the quiet of my mind, and the light of my spirit. I can listen to the tiny voice inside, trust it and believe in it. In my classes I prefer to play the role of a guide rather than a teacher, creating the space where the student can tune into their own inner wisdom; the best teacher is within! Stephanie Howard, ERYT
Stephanie is ERYT 200/ RYT500 certified through Yoga Alliance. She continues to learn from local and national experts in yoga, with a focus on yoga as therapy. She has worked in health and wellness since 2003 and teaches a variety of fitness classes. Stephanie’s passion for yoga has helped her in all aspects of her life and believes that yoga is the perfect complement to any activity. She loves to share that passion with others and to work with people of all abilities and help them achieve better body awareness, acceptance, strength, alignment, and connection of the breath, mind, body, and spirit. She considers herself a forever student, constantly learning, experiencing and expanding, on her mat and off. Stephanie finds inspiration from everything around her and believes that the practice of yoga is a gift for all to enjoy, and finds much inspiration in watching her students explore and navigate their way through the many benefits of the mind, body, and spirit connection yoga offers. It is never too late to begin the journey of healthy self-discovery through yoga. She brings to the tradition of yoga a practical light dashed with humor and intention.
Natasha Klauer, RYT
Natasha has just returned from her Teacher Training course in Thailand where she acquired her 200 RYT through Mahi Yoga. She is now a certified Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. She found her passion for yoga as a relief from the stress of being a former Kindergarten Teacher. She has taken her knowledge of being a former school teacher and transformed into a beautiful Yoga Teacher. She believes yoga is for everyone and truly believes in the life-changing benefits of practicing yoga. She is a compassionate, kind person and it shines through in her teaching. She brings her students into a blissfully calm state by bringing her students into the present moment by connecting them with their breath.

Catherine creates a calm, non-competitive atmosphere where all are welcome to come to have fun, relax and let go while expanding their practice. Just as we are all teachers, she still considers herself a forever student with daily practice and study. Shelley Smith, RYT
Shelley is a Michigan native who has been traveling and teaching internationally for seven years including living and studying in Mysore, India where she received authorization to teach the traditional sadhana of Ashtanga Yoga. Most recently she has been leading mysore-style Ashtanga classes and yoga retreats in Thailand. She has created and directed programs in yoga, meditation, detox, pranayama and philosophy at yoga and retreat centers around the world. She is committed to sharing the practice of yoga to create health, happiness and well being in individuals and communities. We are excited to have Shelley share her knowledge and expertise to help train our students in the fundamentals of the Ashtanga practice and yoga history and philosophy.
Karin Wozniak, RYT
I’ve been practicing yoga for about 16 years mostly in a non-studio setting. I was initially interested in yoga for the strength and flexibility aspects but found that the stress- relieving, mind-calming benefits were much more than I’d anticipated. I would like my classes to be focused on alignment, posture, proper muscle engagement and safe performance for all levels of participants. I am a hands-on instructor helping participants move deeper in poses respecting their personal limits. I would like to instruct participants to use blocks, blankets, straps, sandbags and other props to assist their practice. As a licensed physical therapist, I feel uniquely suited to adjust traditional yoga asanas to allow all types of participants.

Before yoga, I had felt somewhat disconnected from myself and lost in the world. Physical discomfort to mental agitations or worries were normal, everyday occurrences. I felt out of control of my life. Losing sight of who I truly was underneath all the emotions, thoughts, and pains in the body. However, through this practice, there is a power that reawakens within us, for it was always there and always will be. By learning to connect with our breath and bodies, to detach from the thoughts and come into the present that is the NOW- we are able to find peace & stillness. The lessons we learn on our mats such as patience, compassion, and acceptance, not only carry out into our lives, but also transform our lives. Through years of personal experience with the practice and immense inner growth- I have come to be a teacher. Sharing this universal knowledge and practice with others is not only a joy but an honor. Together we can learn to break down our walls, let go of any self-limiting beliefs/thought patterns/habits- and in turn remember everything that we truly are.

Since I was a kid, I’ve suffered through anxiety and panic attacks. Doctors kept suggesting yoga to me so I finally gave it a shot. After trying local studios, I felt the most comfortable at White Lotus. When I was on the mat, my anxiety lessened a great deal. I went through the teacher training program to learn to keep the anxiety away off the mat as well. I became certified in January 2015 and have been teaching ever since with the hope of helping my students lessen their own stress and anxiety. I invite you to get a work out in while calming the mind and body through my yoga class.
Susi Pacitto, RYT
Susi has been practicing yoga for almost 10 years and received her RYT 200 Certification through Yoga Alliance and her Teacher Training with White Lotus Yoga Studio. First turning to yoga as a stress release, she was quickly drawn in by the strength, flexibility, freedom of movement, the power and the challenge she came to love in her regular Hot Vinyasa classes. Now, as a yoga teacher, she is excited to share this passion in her teaching to help others see their potential of strength and find what they may have thought impossible to be possible. Susi also received her 50 Hour AIReal Yoga™ Teacher Training at White Lotus Yoga Studio and has been teaching AIReal Yoga™ since Spring of 2017.
Megan Motoligin, RYT
Megan brings peace, balance, and stillness when she walks into a room. She completed her yoga teacher training at White Lotus Healing & Yoga in the Fall of 2017 earning her RYT 200 Certification. Megan is also a Certified Reiki Practitioner and is working towards becoming a Shaman. She felt called to yoga through her own desire to heal after several surgeries and now has a passion for helping others find healing through holistic approaches. She understands that yoga is very personal and not one-size-fits-all and encourages her students to listen to their intuition, flow with the breath and honor their body throughout every class. You will quickly feel her sparkling, positive and healing energy which will help you get back in touch with your higher self through awareness of your breath.

I recently completed my 200-RYT through White Lotus Studio in the spring of 2017. I have come to believe that yoga truly is for everyone and try to insert it into my everyday life. Not only do the poses act as physical medicine for my body and mind, but the principles have given me a new way to connect with my highest self, others and God. Having worked in the cath lab as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist in the hospital for the past 10 years, I have been around incredibly sick patients. Providing care for patients in such a fast-paced and often stressful environment can mentally and physically wear you down. However, it is an incredible gift to serve others in this way. I get to help be the calm when they are anxiety-ridden, educate when they don’t know or understand what is happening, give compassion and love when they are scared and feel alone, make them laugh to help lighten the atmosphere and their mood and I get to help fix what is broken. Yoga has become these things for me. It’s my calm when I’m feeling anxious. Yoga teaches me, often subtly, what I need to know when I’m unaware or ignorant. It reminds me that I’m loved and am love. Yoga reminds me to be playful, to laugh at myself and not take things too seriously. It helps to fix what is broken, whether mentally, physically or spiritually. I love how yoga is this beautiful dichotomy, this yin, and yang, creating a balance between mental and physical. I strive to bring this balance to my class, creating a moving meditation. Along with the breath, I believe proper alignment and core strength are foundational to the practice. Working in the cath lab, I’ve had to wear an extra 25 pounds of weight in lead most of the day, bending over and moving patients, worrying about the degradation of my spine. Wanting not to be that person who has back problems, yoga has strengthened my core helping to protect my lower back, while elongating and keeping the integrity of my spine. I will always stress safety first in my class but lead you to find your edge gently. Music is woven in my soul, so I love to put together a good playlist. I also love to play with balance postures and inversions. I will be a forever student no matter where I am in my practice. Come learn, strengthen, play, maybe sweat a little (or a lot), laugh, have fun, breath and let it all go.
Angela Giovanni Mauro, RYT
Angela began practicing yoga in college, and it soon became a transformational power in her life. She views yoga as a creative outlet to help herself and others connect with their higher self. Angela is inspired by the natural healing powers of yoga and is enthusiastic about bringing yoga to people of various ages and walks of life. She believes that when life gets hectic you can always get on your mat and everything will begin to make sense. Angela graduated from Oakland University in 2010 with a masters degree in special education. In June of 2018, she received her 200-hour RYT through White Lotus. She relates her teaching experience to her practice in yoga and believes in living yoga on and off her mat.
Randi Giovanni Gustafson, RYT
Randi was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula where she graduated from Northern Michigan University. That’s where she fell in love with yoga when she took a semester-long yoga class as a requirement. She then knew she wanted to teach yoga one day but never thought it was possible. Then several years later the opportunity arose when she joined White Lotus Yoga studio. Yoga was a way of bringing peace and balance into her life after being a stay at home mom for five years. She now wants to spread the love and passion to others. She attained her 200-hour RYT through White Lotus in 2018!

After I graduated from Grand Valley State with a Clinical Exercise Science Degree in 2018, my life events aligned to what led me to teacher training at White Lotus- an experience that has been incredible. I have undergone a transformation that has taught me peace, balance, mindfulness, and most importantly to love myself- fully, endlessly, and graciously. I’m SO excited to begin sharing this beautiful practice with others!
