All About Aerial Yoga
Aerial Yoga is similar to a traditional yoga practice but with the added benefit of a soft, fabric hammock suspended a few feet off the ground. The hammock is a prop, like a strap or block, intended to assist alignment, deepen awareness and provide the immediate benefits of spinal decompression. Aerial Yoga is a wonderful way to expand your practice and create a toned body for an overall happier and healthier you.
With the weight of the body partially or fully supported, along with the help of gravity, you can explore and create space in your body – but without the limitations of the floor! Absent compression of the joints and spine in a hammock you can achieve proper posture and alignment through relaxation, rather than effort, to find a more balanced and unencumbered expression of each pose.
Whether this is your first time taking an Aerial Yoga class or you have some experience, our teachers tailor each class to the needs of the participants attending that day – beginners are always welcome. You will learn proper cues and placement of the hammock to make your experience safe, comfortable and FUN!
Each class includes flowing postures, deep stretches, toning of the core and Aerial inversions for a safe way to open the body into a state of balance and health. At the end of all of our classes you will enjoy a relaxing savasana in the hammock enveloping and cradling your body like a floating cocoon!

Aerial Yoga classes may be purchased individually, as packages, or as an addition to Monthly Unlimited Yoga. Please note Aerial Yoga is not included as part of the 10 Classes for $29 New Student Offer or regular yoga class packages. Visit the Pricing page for details and to purchase classes.
Dress comfortable with regular yoga attire and avoid very loose fitting clothing for Aerial Yoga classes. Long sleeves and yoga pants instead of shorts is recommended. Please leave jewelry such as earrings, large rings, dangling bracelets and watches at home to avoid catching or tearing of the hammocks.
